10-11 May & 17-18 May at FLAT A 12 BERWYN ROAD SE24 9BD
For two vibrant weekends in May, Dulwich came alive with creativity, and we were honoured to be part of it. As The Abstracts, I had the pleasure of sharing this incredible event with two wonderful artists and dear friends, Rosella Garavaglia and Mark Coster, as part of the much-loved Artists’ Open Houses.

Over the course of these two weekends, our exhibition space became more than just a gallery. It was filled with colour, conversation, laughter, and the quiet moments that remind us why art matters. Visitors were drawn into the unique energy between our works, Rosella’s emotional intensity, Mark’s architectural, sculptural forms, and my own’ symbolicals painting, created a dialogue that felt both powerful and playful. We often hear people say, “You’re all so different, yet you fit together perfectly.” That’s the magic of The Abstracts.

The response from the community was brilliant. We met people who were seeing our work for the first time, as well as familiar faces who returned with friends or family. There were meaningful conversations, spontaneous connections, and moments of inspiration shared between artists and visitors alike. Some called our exhibition their highlight of the Open House trail, and we don’t take that lightly.

As the final day came to a close, we felt a mix of emotions: a little sadness that it was ending, but mostly deep gratitude. Grateful to have been part of such a beautiful and supportive creative community. Grateful to the organizers of Artists’ Open Houses for bringing this initiative to life each year. And grateful to everyone who stepped through our doors, engaged with our work, and reminded us what a gift it is to share art.
While the walls are now quiet, the spirit of these two weekends is still with us, and we’re already thinking about next year. Who knows what new ideas, new collaborators, and new magic await?
Until then, thank you for being part of this unforgettable experience.
With appreciation and excitement,
Natalia Giacomino.
